Edward Xie, Fellow

Edward Xie (MD, MSc) is an assistant professor and emergency physician at the University of Toronto. After medical training, he studied health policy, planning, and financing in London, UK. His academic interests focus on health equity and structural determinants of health, with projects addressing homelessness, addictions, global health, and planetary health. Dr. Xie is on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment and Toronto Environmental Alliance. He is an executive member of Global Health Emergency Medicine, a collaborative research and teaching group affiliated with the University of Toronto and Addis Ababa University. He continues to work with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders, including on issues of climate change, health, and humanitarian assistance.
